Bio

mackalie grew up jamming out with her dad in the soundproof music room of her basement in Marietta, GA. They would play covers from artists like Linda Ronstadt, Heart, Mother’s Finest, The Doobie Brothers, to name a few. She wrote her first song at the age of 8. mackalie learned how to play guitar and piano well enough to accompany her songwriting.

Singing school national anthems, choir solos at church, auditions for competitions like American Idol, mackalie was singing wherever and whenever she could. After graduating from The University of Georgia through the Music Business Program, mackalie moved to Nashville, TN, where she pursued music full time. She has always been drawn to the marriage between poetic lyricism and melodic arrangement. She spent three years in Nashville delving into her heart and her writing, training herself to exercise the creative portion of her brain. In that time she has focused her sound in a soul-pop direction.

Her debut heartbreak-inspired single was released February 29, 2020. Recently relocating to Atlanta and her Georgia roots, you can find her playing around Atlanta and north Metro Atlanta areas. When she’s not cheering on her Georgia Bulldogs, she’s entirely focused on writing and her next music project. Follow her Instagram and Facebook pages for a live look into her journey.
